Hypnosis is the process of inducing a trance. This is a natural state of mind, where your conscious mind relaxes and enables your subconscious mind to become open and receptive to suggestions which are designed to help you. Hypnotherapy addresses the root cause of your problem to effectively help you to make changes.

Hypnotherapy has proven to be effective for a wide range of issues and conditions, such as:

  • A lifestyle change (like to stop smoking, exercise more, lose weight, stop drinking excessively, fears like flying, give up a bad habit, etc.)
  • Dealing with anxiety/depression
  • Confidence & speaking in public
  • Release emotional, physical, mental, psychological and spiritual pain
  • Stopping self-sabotage
  • Physical pain from psychological trauma

When you book a Hypnotherapy session with Erika, she will gently guide you into your own mind, helping you understand how deeply-buried past events have affected you, thereby recognising and removing the cause, leading to permanent and powerful transformation.

In Neuroscience there’s something called Hebb’s Law which basically says neurons that fire together, wire together. This means that the more you talk about and associate into something, the deeper a connection is made. As a result, the more you re-live, re-experience, examine, or discuss a problem with talk therapy, the more you are making it worse and the longer it can take to heal. There are alternatives that are quicker and more efficient where you don’t need to spend so much time in pain recounting the trauma, such as Hypnosis, NLP, EFT and EMDR. A few sessions and you can move forward with your life, pain free, without negatively reacting and without constantly re-telling the story.

Please note that Hypnosis alone is no guarantee of success. You need to want the change and be open and motivated to change, via the use of hypnotherapy.

Do I lose control while hypnotised?

Hypnosis is not putting you to sleep; it’s putting your nervous system in a relaxed state. This means that even though you remain fully aware of everything going on around you, you are not bothered by them. As a result, you can turn your attention inward. I cannot get you to do anything in trance that you would not do otherwise.

What if I can’t be hypnotised?

Hypnosis is a natural state that we go into throughout the day, so you have already experienced this, probably without realising it.  Everyone is different, so some people will go into trance more easily and deeper than others.
